School-Age Room
The Children's Nest provides a before and after school program for children who go to school in Blacksburg. We have two vans that transport the kids to and from school. Once the children arrive at The Children's Nest in the afternoon, they are given a snack. After snack, the children who have homework receive assistance completing it. After homework/quiet time, the children either play at centers or go outside.
Anytime that the Montgomery County Public Schools are closed, our schooler program is open all day, providing breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
During the summer, our fantastic schooler program is open to all children! We take several field trips per week, going to fun places such as the pool, Safari Park, the library, Steppin' Out, Natural Bridge, and Hand in Hand Park. On the days that we do not have field trips scheduled, we have special days here at The Children's Nest, such as water day or movie day. The cost is $65/70 weekly. Back to rooms.
