The Children's Nest provides a before and after school program. The Bumble Bee Room serves school age children in Kindergarten, First and Second Grade. The Hornet Room serves children in grades 3-6. Depending on which school a child attends they take the school bus to and from their schools or are transported in one of our three Children’s Nest Vans.

Bumblebee and Hornets can arrive at the center as early as 6:30am. They have free time until departing for school at 8:30am.

Once the children arrive at The Children's Nest in the afternoon, they are given a snack. After snack, the children who have homework receive assistance completing it. Children without homework have reading time to complete the school recommended 20 minutes per day of reading. After homework/reading time, the children either play with a wide variety of age-appropriate toys and games or spend time playing outside. Bumblebee and Hornet favorites are the GA-GA Pit, and seeing who can swing the highest.

Anytime that the Montgomery County Public Schools are closed, our schooler program is open all day, providing breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. (Additional Fees Apply)
