Sea Lion Room

Sea Lions are our first Pre-kindergarten or preschooler room and serve the kids that are at least 46 months old. Our preschool classrooms incorporate short periods of formal classroom learning environments intertwined with the full day play based learning model.

The Sea Lion room focuses on teaching children social and emotional readiness necessary for continued academic success. Sea Lions spend time cutting, gluing, writing, and many other things all the while practicing successful transition from activity to activity. They participate in the Children’s Nest’s weekly theme as focus for their activities. Sea Lions use both circle time and centers to organize activities and learning objectives during the day.

Physical play for Sea Lion’s has both free play and structured time, where activities like running, throwing a ball, and hopping on one foot are worked on. Our Sea Lions continue to nap daily, gaining energy for these very busy days.
